The London Series | London’s most ‘Instagram-able’ Bakeries

Fern About Town - Peggy Porschen (2)

If you thought Paris was home to world’s most delectable pâtisseries, think again. Get your camera (and sweet tooth) ready, because these are London’s most Instagram-worthy bakeries.

Peggy Porschen

Famed wedding cake creator for the likes of Kate Moss and Stella McCartney, Peggy Porschen’s powder pink parlour has graced London’s Belgravia for over ten years. Pastel-hued buttercreams, whimsical sugar biscuits, and champagne strawberry cupcakes all feature on this pâtisserie’s ready-to-eat menu.

Maître Choux

Pastry chef extraordinaire, Joakim Prat, is behind this South Ken bake shop where the humble French éclair is finessed with a little sprinkling of luxe. Expect dustings of candied pistachio and choux laced with gold leaf.

If French pâtisserie could be haute couture, Maître Choux is surely it.

London’s undisputed biscuit connoisseurs, or Biscuiteers as they like to be known, are responsible for those picture-perfect (and personalised) bakes you have seen all over Instagram. A good ‘snap’ is, of course, the hallmark of a well-baked biscuit.

Crumbs and Doilies

YouTuber, Cupcake Jemma, is the brains and grafter behind the Crumbs and Doilies bakery, just off London’s famed Carnaby Street. Marvel at these magical funfetti, sparkly creations that only Jemma could muster, and may just have a surprise centre…

Crosstown Doughnuts

Level-up doughnut game right here. This Soho establishment is responsible for the Matcha tea doughnut ring, and one of your five-a-day (probably).

Lily Vanilli

Lily Jones, affectionately known as Lily Vanilli, has a sweet treat for you at her bakery just off Columbia Road. Vegan and gluten free bakes are also available. Open to the public only on market day (Sunday).

Ps. If you’re after something savoury, the sausage rolls are the stuff of local legend.
