London girls will tell you, this pretty city of ours comes with its unpredictable summer weather. Happily, a lightweight tweed jacket, the epitome of Chanel-esque elegance, can completely elevate an otherwise everyday outfit and be the perfect transitional piece when cooler winds breeze through the late summer afternoon.
Enter, Charlotte London. This London girl, turned fashion entrepreneur, knows how to polish any look with her range of timeless jackets and was kind enough to let me style some of my favourite pieces from her latest collection…
Contrast textures and detailing pull together this simple all-white daytime look. My style has always been to invest in pieces that wear well, season after season, and I find that a palette of ivories, blush pinks and neutral tones are the best way to achieve this. A blank, but feminine, canvas for the standout jacket and its fun rainbow stripes.
More neutral tones for this easy denim, Sunday-stroll-through-Notting-Hill look. The layered Oasis top has been in my wardrobe for some time (probably years!), but a good example of the longevity of a staple piece! This casual denim look is dressed up with the playful contrast of touch-of-sparkle tweed over sheer organza and embroidered florals.
And the finishing touch for city girl chic…
