Five Floral Fragrances for Spring

Fern-About-Town-Spring-Fragrance-Jo-Malone (3) - Square

Spring is in the air and with it you might just catch the scent of blooming peonies, wistful wisteria, or honey-sweet blossom. Florals are in their abundance at this time of year and, it also being the season of new beginnings, what better excuse to discover a few new fragrances, with notes of all your favourite springtime blooms.

Florals for spring.

Jo Malone, ‘Nashi Blossom’

Every few months or so, Jo Malone spoils us “perfumephiles” with a limited edition collection to get excited about, and this month sees the launch of its neon-hued Blossom Girls trio of fragrances.

‘Nashi Blossom’, the playful sister to ‘Sakura Cherry Blossom’ and ‘Plum Blossom’, is a symphony of delicate white petals and fruity notes of apple and pear. A fresh, springtime morning in a bottle.

Guerlain, ‘Aqua Allegoria Passiflora’

This season also sees the launch of the latest addition to Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria collection, ‘Passiflora’. The entire collection takes inspiration from garden forages and is Guerlain’s first all-fresh fragrance collection.

‘Passiflora’ is a delicate floral fragrance with ylang-ylang, and subtle citrus notes of mandarin, lemon and grapefruit. A fragrance to see you through spring and long in to summer, too…

Diptyque, ‘Fleur de Peau’

Parisian fragrance house, Diptyque, brings a fresh, floral take on a classic perfume this spring with ‘Fleur de Peau’. Its notes of musk – a celebratory nod to the perfumer’s first ever fragrance creation 50 years ago – are complemented by notes of rose and iris.

Don’t be fooled by the bottle, though, Fleur de Peau is unexpectedly delicate.

Penhaligon’s, ‘Equinox Bloom’

From Paris to London, by way of Jermyn Street. Penhaligon’s ‘Equinox Bloom’ is a luscious spring bouquet bursting with frangipani, jasmine, orange blossom, violets and neroli, and neatly (hand) tied with a bow.

If ever the essence of ‘spring florals’ was captured, this is it.

Viktor & Rolf, ‘Flowerbomb’

Viktor & Rolf’s ‘Flowerbomb’ is a modern icon of floral fragrance. Its striking notes of bergamot, freesia and rose are delicate, feminine and instantly recognisable. Launched in 2005, and thought to sell every three minutes, this is a longstanding spring fling.
