Bringing you through the keyhole today, as I take you on a little tour of my dressing room and wardrobe. We all know that your home is a reflection of personal style, but perhaps no room is more so than a dressing room!
As a style and beauty blogger, my dressing room is often a revolving door of press samples so it’s really important that the space doesn’t just function for my blog, but also my day-to-day wardrobe. It’s also the place I start my day, so it was important to create a space for getting ready “me time”, and one of my favourite daily rituals is applying my skincare and make up at my dressing table.
The latest addition to the room is the beautiful “Georgette” velvet ottoman from Sofa.com, who I’ve worked with to create this post (you might just spot me on their blog today, too!). My personal style, both in my wardrobe and home is very classic and feminine, and I’ve always favoured a palette of neutral tones. The Georgette, with it’s luxurious quilting in “Lychee”, a delicate blush-shade fabric that is new for S/S18, strikes a perfect balance of timelessness and femininity. The perfect accessory for this room (and also useful for reaching the highest shelves of my wardrobe!).
My dressing room is my little sanctuary and, whilst I don’t tend to write in here, it is the place I rummage around for inspiration; be it the stash of new-in beauty products, or finding a favourite old dress and re-imagining it for the new season. I’ll also let you in on a secret… This room happens to have great natural lighting, so it’s where I take a lot of my blog photos. If you follow me on Instagram, you might just recognise one or two corners!
I suspect you’ll see a lot more of my new ottoman in future posts, as the new statement piece in this room.
Does your personal style reflect in the rest of your home?
